Become a Virtual Assistant
Do you want to work remotely as a Virtual Assistant?
What Is A Virtual Assistant?
A VA (Virtual Assistant), also known as a personal office assistant, or virtual personal assistant, is someone who provides a variety of administrative assistance to clients from home.
This type of work is different from your usual call center job, where you provide customer care for a client's needs from home. You will do any and everything from clerical and data entry to customer service, real estate, telemarketing, or anything that your client would like done!
The VPA (Virtual Personal Assistant) will manage and support all aspects of the executive's work including scheduling and calendar management, call screening, messaging, text and email management, letter, spreadsheet, and presentation preparation, travel arrangements, Internet research, data entry, and event planning.
Here are a few common skills virtual assistants require:
•The ability to multitask.
•Good verbal communication skills.
•Good grammar and spelling skills.
•Proficiency with office programs, like Excel and Word.
•Knowledge of platforms, like Dropbox or Google Drive.
•Internet research.
Some clients might require prior experience, but many don’t.
For many jobs, you don’t even require any particular qualification, like a virtual assistant certification, or a degree – others, however, do require a qualification.
Things You Need
1. A computer with high-speed internet
2. Personal phone line
3. Google Suite: Gmail, Calendar, Chrome, Drive, Plus, Hangouts, Voice
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Here are just some of the tasks that VA’s are responsible for:
•Scheduling appointments.
•Data entry.
•Sending and replying to emails/writing emails.
•Making phone calls.
•Social media management.
•Booking events.
•Making reservations.
•Paying bills.
•Creating or formatting spreadsheets.
•Organizing computer documents.
•Typing notes for meetings.
•Internet Research, Information Gathering, Social Media Research
•Data Entry, Data Verification, Copy/Paste Conversions, Document Prep
•Blog Writing, Editing, Website Content, Resume Writing, Social Media
•Member and Employer Data Modifications, Customer Service
•Programming, WordPress Development, Graphic Design
As you can see, VA’s have a lot of different responsibilities and the tasks they do will vary, depending on the client they’re working with.
